Blacked Out World Live 11-4-2011 Des Moines Iowa

NOV 4, 2011
HOUSE OF BRICKS- Des Moines, IA

It was a hectic day, running behind schedule, cell phone lightin' up like the 4th of July. Finally roll into the East Village, 20 minutes 'till doors open. Get the gear loaded in and the rigs out of the alley... HOLY SHIT! Found a parking right behind the venue...LUCKY!

Was good seein' old friends again, and tried out the new drum tech. Brandon is a great guy and a damn fine tech. You all should come out and say him and buy him a round for all his hard work...He definitely helps keep the big machine rollin'. The Blacked Out Family was in full effect and definitely adding to the cool factor. Shelby Finch debuted her talent for rocking on stage with us for a cool version of "Suicide Note" Duet Style. Thanks to Shelby! Also, a big thanks goes out to Lisa and Rockstar photography.

Ira Grace opened the show with Twenty2 Salute following. Was an eclectic mix for support bands, but we enjoyed it. All around decent people and good musicians. Then hit the stage and come out all guns blazin'. Rapid Fire, one right after the other, just screamin through our set, takin' names and just plain killin' it. Technical difficulties abound, bass guitar straps and crash cymbals floppin' round in the breeze...(Thanks for the great quality construction on the gear China!) Josh and I didn't care, dealt with it in true rock fashion and powered right through it to deliver another blistering show. Overall it was a good crowd, and another gig recorded in the funny pages. Made some new friends, Made some new fans and the wild fire keeps spreadin'.

Till next time...Keep Bleedin' Black!

Blacked Out World Live 8-5-2011 Des Moines Iowa

AUG 5, 2011
HULL AVENUE TAVERN- Des Moines, IA

Of all the "first" gigs I've played, and all of the small venues whose stages I have performed on, this gig tops 'em all. The house was packed, the sound was awesome and the liquor was cold. We brought the thunder, opened fire and took heads off...ONE, TWO BARBEQUE!!!! Choppin' Broccoli, brother, I guaran-damn-tee you. The night went down in straight up rock n' roll outlaw fashion. We rolled up, loaded in and prepped the loud makers. Walking around, runnin into folks, making new friends, downed some cold ones, watched the acoustic genius of a cat named Tyler. Iron Maiden on the flat top box? Sure at shit it was.

Then we hit the stage and all hell breaks loose. Tore through an hour long, blistering set. Was hot as hell on stage - "Sweatin' more water than we could drink, and perspiring like hookers on Judgement day. Des Moines in August is a humid, 'sack-stuck-to-your-leg' muhfuh, but we didn't care. The air we moved kept it just shy of Hell's Furnace. Headliners Scarlet Suicide took the stage and killed it. Just great musicians and good people. Lookin' forward to the next time we share a stage with them.

Killer Rock n Roll, the Blacked Out Family and Booze - the recipe for a fuckin' great time. I can't think of a better way to throw down a first gig.

Till next time...Keep Bleedin' Black!
